Staff Profiles

Lori Aveni is a graduate of Wake Forest University with a background in nonprofit management. After her two sons were born, she was offered an opportunity to take on a bookkeeping position for a national nonprofit, and her love of accounting was discovered. Lori jokes that she finally figured out what she wants to be when she grows up. She returned to school at North Carolina State University where she studied accounting and prepared for the CPA exam. In the meantime she built a successful bookkeeping and payroll practice serving clients throughout North Carolina. Lori has since received her CPA license and has expanded her practice to include tax preparation and planning services. She has not forgotten her nonprofit background and she offers tailored bookkeeping services and training specifically for nonprofit administrators and financial staff at a reduced fee.

Lori is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Association of Tax Professionals and is licensed in the state of North Carolina (State Board of Certified Public Accountant Examiners Certificate number 38685, issued August 25, 2014). She is an active volunteer in the community and in her spare time enjoys gardening and reading. Lori lives in Apex, NC with her husband and their two sons.
